Vosloo Vertical City

From hostel to high-rise. From survival to prosperity.

The vision

This project would turn a large hostel area in Vosloorus into a modern, high-density city with homes, shops, schools, healthcare, parks and a transport hub.

Vosloorus has a chance to write a new chapter. Vosloo Vertical City imagines its large hostel precinct becoming a modern, mixed-use city.

It is not just a group of towers. It is a complete urban ecosystem where people can live, work, learn, shop, exercise, get healthcare and build businesses — all in one planned place.

The development

What the city would include.

01

Build up. Open up. Connect.

Placing many homes in towers frees up land. That land becomes parks, public squares, sports facilities and walkways. The city is dense without feeling crowded.

02

A new skyline

Modern towers that mix contemporary African design with international architecture. Landmark buildings mark the gateways and central districts, giving Vosloorus a new visual identity.

03

The Vertical Village

Daily needs are close to home. Leave your apartment, walk through a park, grab a coffee, see a doctor and catch a bus — all within minutes. Live where you shop. Work where you connect.

04

The commercial heart

Supermarkets, restaurants, offices, financial services and local businesses along landscaped boulevards. Commerce brings life to the streets throughout the day.

05

Vosloo Central Park

A green heart with gardens, a lake, play areas, sports fields and space for community events. Where towers create density, the park creates openness.

06

Education, skills and health

Training centres, schools and TVET-linked facilities build skills. Clinics and wellness centres bring healthcare closer to families.

07

Transport, safety and sustainability

A transport hub for buses, taxis and e-hailing. 24/7 security and smart-city systems. Renewable energy, water recycling and green buildings.

08

Shop where you own

Approved SAMBO members could share in apartment rent, the rent paid by trading businesses and the profits of those businesses.
